All you need to know about Clan Wars!
This guide is old, stay tuned for Clan Wars 2 guide!
Last updated: 06/27/2018
Clan wars is a two-day event for your whole clan. The first day, you do challenges and collect clan cards. The second day, you compete with 4 other clans by making a deck and battling someone. Then, each clan in that group is ranked according to wins and awarded clan trophies.
Then, you can start another war.
Clan war seasons last for 2 weeks. After that, each player participating in at least one war is given a chest. The better your clan did in the wars, the juicier the chest!
In order to participate in Clan Wars, your clan needs to have at least 10 members. Player’s king level needs to be at least 8. Clan Wars can be started only by a clan leader or co-leader.
Clan chests have been removed, but Clan Wars are more entertaining, actively involve the whole clan, and have rewards that can be much higher.

Each player has 3 battles to do. You can choose from challenges appearing on the island. If you’re not happy with the selection, wait for someone else to play, and new challenges will appear.
The battles are played with your own deck and your ladder card levels (except Draft and Classic) against randomly matched opponents. They can be 2v2, Sudden death, Double elixir, … For every battle, you get clan cards. More if you win, less if you lose or tie.
The goal of this day is to collect as many cards as possible as a clan.
Remember, the challenges are played with your ladder levels, so it's better to stick to decks that you have good levels for. Or to play Draft challenge as it is played on tourney standard.
Also, see the guides below to help you prepare for the challenges.
Cards you collect on day 1 are added into your clan cards. This is a collection of up to 40 cards and is valid only for the current war. In each war, you start with empty. It is the same for your whole clan and each clan will collect different cards.
With more players participating on day 1 (and the more wins they get), you get a wider selection of cards and better levels. The clan cards are upgraded automatically and without a cost as you collect more of them. With these cards, each player has to build a war deck which will be used on day 2.
This is the deck you’ll be playing on the war day. What deck to choose?
You can only pick from your clan cards and the cards you have. So even if your clan collected all the legendaries, but you don’t have some of them, you can’t use them in your war deck.
Levels of the cards in your war deck are determined by your own card levels and the clan card levels you collected as a clan. The lower number is used. So if you have lvl 5 X-Bow, but your clan only collected cards for lvl 4, your X-Bow for the war day will be lvl 4. And similarly, your clan collected lvl 12 Knight but you don’t have him upgraded and it is only lvl 9, the lower level will be used.
You can test your war deck in a friendly battle.
You’re matched against 4 other clans. Each player gets only 1 battle. So pick a good war deck, play carefully, and let your clanmates know in advance, so they can support you. (You can get two battles if less people are participating.)
Your final battle is played using a War Deck with levels that your clan cards and your own collection allow. King level is determined by the Clan league you're in. (It can't be higher than your level.)
You're faced against random opponents, not against players from the other 4 clans!
At the end of the war day, the clans are ranked 1–5 according to the results of the battles. The more wins you have, the better. In case of a tie, the ranking is decided by the number of crowns. (So it is better to 3-crown in your final battle.)
Each clan gets or loses trophies based on the league and ranking. League information is below.
Clan wars season lasts two weeks, so you can have 7 clan wars. At the end of the season, each player that participated in at least one war will be given a chest. Similarly to ladder league rewards, it will be the best chest that was achieved during the season.
Clan wars chest is tied to the player, not to a clan. So you get the chest from the best war you participated in.
Clans are divided into leagues based on their clan trophies. Leagues affect the following:
Clan wars offer multiple rewards:
On day 1, if you've already started your collection day, it is better to play and lose than not to play the remaining battles at all.
Losing gives you clan cards too. Not playing doesn't.
You can nudge your clanmates if they haven’t participated in the current war yet.
They will get a notification.
The higher arena you are in, the more cards you get during Day 1.
It is good to climb as high as you can to get more cards, dropping in trophies will really hurt your clan.
But there's a big gap at 4K, so it doesn't matter if you're at 4000 or 4800, your collected clan cards are the same.
If you're not sure if you'd have the time to play all 4 battles, don't play at all.
When you don't play the final battle, you put your clan in a worse position than if you skip the war entirely.
You can rewatch replays from your clanmates.
No need to share replays in the clan to rewatch them, now you can see every battle from the Clan War screen.
Clan Wars is a team event. Cooperate with your clanmates.
If you see someone struggling with a challenge or with building a good deck, be nice to them, offer advice. It is for the benefit of the clan too!
Why do I have two battles on War Day?
Each clan in your group of 5 clans on Day 2 has to have the same number of battles. If you have less participating members than other clans, additional battles are randomly given to make it even.
What happens if I leave the clan during the Clan Wars?
Unlike Clan Chest, you can return to finish your battles, if you make it in time.
On day 2, do crowns count in the total score even when you lose?
Yes. So when you know that you'll lose, try to take at least one tower instead of defending.
How does matchmaking for Clan Wars work?
You as a player are assigned a hidden trophies (ELO) that represent your skill. If you are good, you'll be facing better opponents in the challenges.
Your clan is assigned a similar rating too, based on that, you're matched with 4 other clans of similar skill.
Your final battle opponent is matched based on the hidden ELO as well.
What if I join after the war was started?
Then you won't be able to participate in this war and you'll have to wait for the next one.
